A maiden over to start with for Amir and Yasir

What a coincidence we have witnessed today as on the first day of BPL, Pakistani players dominated the two games today. Up first was Muhammad Amir who playing for the Vikings played superbly with the ball.

He was brilliant with the new ball and even in the later half, he brought back his team in the match with an aggressive two wickets low scoring over. However Ami first over went as a maiden and that is what we talk about here.

Amir looked good. He was in control of his deliveries and that was the best part. He did lack anticipation from his own self as well. He bowled this maiden over to one of the hardest hitters in t20 cricket, L Simmons.

Amir kept it right in the uncertainty channel. Simmons was felling it difficult to judge the seam movement of the ball. Amir brought back into him a few times and on other occasion he moved the ball away from the right hander. Brilliant stuff from the left arm pacer.

Yasir who played for the Dhaka Dynamites did a similar kind of a job but with the difference in pace. Yasir bowled his first over as maiden as well.

He bowled against Smith from Kent. Yasir too was excellent with his line, length and spin. It is always hard for the spinner to bowl a maiden over in a T20 game but not for Yasir.

He kept the ball close to Smith and turned it from there. Smith almost gave away hos wicket on a close LBW shout but got saved. It was really close. Another good start for Yasir in this year’s BPL.
