Pakistan once again fails to produce a strong opening partnership. They have tried many things but it seems like nothing is working in their favor as far as opening is concerned.
Babar Azam did play well for his 22 and some of the shots he played were lovely to watch. His straight drive against Topley was a master class shot but then again after getting settled he threw away his wicket.

Woakes was keeping the ball short and Azam went for a big pull shot on one of them. The ball didn’t hit the middle of his bat and as a result scooped up in the air high down to deep fine leg. Adil Rashid was stationed there already and it was a dolly for him at this level.
Babar was dejected so he should be. These were the ideal conditions for him or for nay batsman for that matter to bat as long as he wants. But he didn’t take the necessary measures and went on to hit his shots freely and now one has cost him his wicket.
Pakistan will now on to its back foot and reason is obvious. Wicket has lost and the consolidation time comes. Pakistan needs some good score here to defend else it will be easy pickings for the Englishmen.
