The Australians are always known to be the giants in cricket and they have a long history of success behind them to prove it. However there are times when they take the game too far and it becomes personal to them.

One such moment came on the last day of the first test match between Australian and New Zealand. Australia was on the verge of getting the first test in their pockets with New Zealand nine down. Craig was at the crease facing Starc.
The fast bowler was belted for two fours from the kiwi tail ender. The first one was a good hit that went over Starc’s head and hit the fence. The second was more of a defensive shot that hit the edge of the bat and went through the vacant slip squadron for another four.
Starc looked normal even after getting those two boundaries. The third he bowled came back at him as Craig defended this one back. Starc stopped the ball and threw it right back at Craig who moved aside in time and the ball raced away towards the boundary for 4 overthrows.
The match referee took the notice of this incident and Starc was fined 8300$. Captain Smith called it utterly disappointing and vowed to have with the fast bowler and let him know about the other ways to deal with his frustration.
The Kiwi captain B McCullum hoped that the throw was towards the wickets and not batsman. It is interesting to note that there has not been any apology made by Starc.
